All workshops are based on themes from my debut picture book, and can be adapted to meet the needs of nursery, EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children.

Creative Writing and the Curriculum

With declining statistics for children who read and write for pleasure (see National Literacy Trust's reports), it's never been a more important time to tackle this crisis.

I'm offering a three-part training programme of 45/50 minute sessions focused on improving teacher knowledge in order to support children's writing progress and attaintment in the classroom.

Session 1: What is Creative Writing?

• An introduction to writing creatively and the research behind its importance for children.

Session 2: Become a Creative Writer

• To learn the creative writing strategies required to plan and write outstanding stories.

Session 3: 'Natural Flair' in the Curriculum

• To understand how creative writing improves EXS and GDS writing by helping all children write with 'natural flair'.
